Me VS The Cookie

I made a mistake. A big one. In a giant cast iron skillet. I let a huge Cookie (capital C) into my home.
Cue the Price is Right Fail Music
I make my hubs a giant cookie every year for his birthday. This year I made the amazing Deep Dish Salted Chocolate Cookie Pie from Eat Run Live. So good. And now it's stalking me.

I'll admit. I did partake. More than once. But I'm keeping it in moderation. I had it in a spot where I walked past it multiple times a day. So I moved it. I can't tell you how much that helped. Just the simple step of getting it out of sight has decreased my indulgence levels from sneaking nibbles all day down to one piece after dinner.

Apparently this is a bonafide trick of the skinnier folks. According to an article in Eating Well, people who put their treats away, rather than leaving them tucked away on the counter (like most of us do because these foods don't/shouldn't have a permanent home in our kitchens) weigh a whopping 15 to 20 pounds less on average!!! Google uses this trick in their cafeteria to help their employees eat healthier. A healthy worker is a productive worker (who keeps insurance costs low).

Tonight, that Cookie is finding a new home in an opaque container and being put out of sight. My husband will know where to find it. I'm sure he, the Cookie, and his amazing metabolism will be very happy together.

Yeah it can be tough fighting off cravings for unhealthy items that are in the home.

I think you did a great job allowing yourself a little but not going overboard, then getting the cookie out of site.
